RFID based access control can be implemented in schools, colleges, offices, and so on. Nowadays RFID tags are associated with ID cards. Each tag has a unique id which can picked up by an RFID reader. Our system consists of such an RFID reader which operates on 125KHz range. Three tag codes are stored inside the system and only those ID’s get through. When a tag gets near the reader it automatically gets powered and sense the tag ID to the reader through wireless communication. The reader decodes the data and sends it to the microcontroller serially. This serial data is stored temporarily inside the microcontroller for comparison. It is then compared to the available three tag codes and if the match is positive the relay turns on and thereby access is granted. Otherwise a warning is given and door remains shut.
